Sophia is a high school senior with a deep passion for helping others and a clear goal of pursuing a career in nursing after graduation. Living with type one diabetes has given her a personal understanding of patient care and sparked her interest in the medical field.

Sophia’s favorite place to be is her family ranch in Alamosa, where she enjoys spending time with her close-knit family. She comes from a big family and loves being surrounded by her five siblings, two nieces, one nephew, and her dog; who all bring energy and joy to her daily life.

Outside of school and work, Sophia values time with loved ones, being outdoors, and finding meaningful ways to support those around her. Her life experiences have shaped her into a compassionate, driven individual who is excited to make a difference through a future in healthcare.
